The activities and ministries of the S. English Street Church of Christ consist of a number of small groups that have the specific purpose of ministering to the needs of all people, especially those who are of the Household of Faith (Gal. 6:9,10).

It is the vision of Christ that reminds us of the true spirit of the Christian Covenant Community (the church). The will of God is that we love him first with all of our heart, and our neighbor as we love ourselves.

Loving God means we will practice the disciplines of study, meditation, prayer, and fasting in order to better understand and obey Him (Christ).

Loving people as ourselves means we will seek to reach them by all approved means; we will strive to serve them by meeting their particular needs; we will seek to build them up in the most productive way so that they may live their life joyfully in the glorificaiton of their creator, God.

These small group ministries are therefore putting into practice the idea the apostles set forth in Eph. 4:11,12, "It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's People for works of service, so that the Body of Christ be Built Up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
